8.4 Currency Cycle

VERSION 1.0 – DECEMBER 2023

Purpose: To provide a time frame for periodical review of knowledge and skills, processes, competencies, and requirements within the Operation Centre.

Scope: This is relevant to all operators in the State Operations Communications Centre (SurfCom).

1. Overview
   1.1 The currency cycle for the Operation Centre is June to November.
   1.2 The OCS is to implement the currency cycle and allocate time for training and assessment of operators and processes.
   1.3 All operators are encouraged to identify any problems as they arise to assist in identifying skill gaps and establishing a plan to fill these gaps.

2. Key Elements
   2.1 All operators must have up to date certifications to allow them to work in SurfCom.
   2.2 All operators must undergo yearly competencies to ensure that their knowledge and skills are of the relevant standard.
   2.3 All SOPS must be reviewed annually to ensure that processes are updated and relevant to the job at hand.
