In order to use audio (listen and speak with people in a vehicle), the following requirements must be met:
- At least one camera equipped with both a microphone and a speaker
- C3 app installed in the camera
- Active network connection in vehicle
Locate a vehicle in OEC that fits the above requirements.
Click on “Live view” and a new window with the Observit Live player will open.
By clicking on the button “1” next to the headphone icon, live audio from the vehicle will be heard.
The button will change color to green to indicate that the microphone is active.
If a vehicle has multiple cameras with microphones, a new button for each microphone will be shown in the Live player.
To stop listening to live audio, simply click on “1” again.
Speaking
Likewise, by clicking on “1” next to the microphone icon, any audio picked up by your microphone will be played from the speaker in the camera.
The button will change color to green to indicate that the microphone is active.
To turn off the speaker, simply click on “1” again.
Just as if vehicle has multiple microphones, multiple speakers in a vehicle will allow a user to speak through the speaker of their choice.
Live player uses either your built in microphone or an external one and must also be enabled in your browser in order to pick up audio.
