The recordings tab is where you fetch recordings from the vehicle to the server. There is also an overview of current and recent recordings fetched from the current vehicle.

One of the most important fields for regular users is Status, this shows either:

  • Complete
Fetching of videos from the vehicle is complete
  • Upload in progress
The request has been received, video upload in progress
  • Waiting for vehicle
The upload request has not been received by the vehicle yet

The field labeled Result will also show an indication of the progress made thus far, it will show either status:

  • No info
No information has yet been received by the server from the vehicle has been
  • X minutes
A confirmation of the length of video requested and about to be uploaded
  • Web player
As soon as the video is uploaded, a link to the Web player will be shown.
This allows the user to view the video instantly in their own browser.

Watching recordings

Viewing videos, simply click on the “Web player” link next to any recording and a new window will open where you can view your recordings.
To learn how to use the Observit Web player, go to our “How to” section to see our user guides.

Exports from Web player

If any exports have been made from the original recording, they will shown underneath the original video. The new video file is given the same name as the original file with the addition of a serial number for easy tracking. In the image above, we can see that two exports have been made from the original file, both with a new serial number at the end of the original recording id.
The export with a 1 at the end of it, was requested as a mp4 file, a format used to easy distribution.
And the export with a 2 at the end, was requested in the Web player format, only used for viewing through the Observit Web Player.
