2.6.8. Counter report

The counter report tab in a vehicle displays a calendar view of the last two months, with a number representing the accuracy of the counting of passengers.

Since buses transport passengers at all hours of the day, instead of having the day start at 00:00 / 12:00 pm, the counting restarts a few hours after midnight, depending on your local time. This is to ensure that the result of the counting of passengers is registered on the correct “traffic date”. The time is adaptable to suit the customer’s needs. The time when counting restarts is shown above the calendar.

Days marked in dark grey have a CSV-file attached, with further details on the counting available. The numbers marked with either green, yellow, or red represent the accuracy of the counting for the day. During a day that the bus has not been in use, or the number of people counted is below the selected threshold, a blank day will be shown in the calendar. When selecting a day without a result, if no stops have been served, a message “No stops for this day.” will be shown, or if the bus has had to few passengers, details on the counting results will be shown.

This is an extract from a run of a bus, where details of the counting are displayed. At the top, a CSV-file is available for download.
Several details regarding the counting is displayed here, including:

• Time
  • What time the counting took place.
• Type
  • Report of counting result can set to trigger on:
    Automatically at a fixed interval
    Doors opening / closing
    Combination of both, such as seen above
• Stop
  • A position or name of stop will be shown.
• Occupancy
  • Number of people currently on the bus
• Boarding
  • Number of people getting on the bus at the stop
• Alighting
  • Number of people getting off the bus at the stop

To the far right, underneath the topic Accumulated, the total number of people counted for that day is shown.

• Boarding
  • Total number of people who have gotten on the bus since counting restarted.
• Alighting
  • Total number of people who have gotten off the bus since counting restarted.
• Accuracy
  • As soon as 100 or more people have been counted, a number representing the accuracy of the counting is shown.
