Requirements to setup C3
Each item in the following list is needed to run and fully utilize the C3 application in an Axis camera.
- A Observit Enterprise Center account
- SD-card installed in the camera, formatted to ext4
- NTP and DNS in the camera to get the correct time
- C3 app installed, configured, and started in the camera
- To connect and access the camera, a number of ports must be open for outbound traffic.
- The client firewall must also allow outbound traffic on a few specific ports
These ports are specific to each customer and service, please contact Observit support to make sure that your network meets our requirements
Setup procedure for C3
Account to Observit Enterprise Center
Contact Observit support to receive an account for Observit Enterprise Center (OEC) cloud service.
Axis Onboard Camera with Edge Storage
Axis onboard cameras equipped with Axis high endurance SD-card and power-supply.
The SD-card needs to be formatted in ext4. An SD-card is mandatory to run the C3-app.
Set the NTP and DNS in the camera to get the correct time.
Internet Connection
An internet connection is required to connect and access the camera remotely.

Preparation
Local PC preparation
AXIS IP Utility and AXIS Device Manager are recommended methods for finding Axis products on the network and assigning them IP addresses in Windows®. Both applications are free and can be downloaded from at the Axis website. The camera will be accessed from a browser. If you need more information about recommended browsers, go to www.axis.com/browser-support
Observit Enterprise Center (OEC)
Your sales representative has requested a personal account from Observit support, please check your junk folder before requesting a new account.
OEC, Cloud system setup
Open a web-browser and log in to the cloud service with the login credentials you received from Observit, and/or with the custom agreement. If you need more information about recommended browsers, please contact Observit support.
After successfully logging in – go to “Settings”: Enter system policies and profiles including desired resolution and recording framerate
The client firewall must allow outbound traffic on some specific ports, please contact Observit support before opening unnecessary ports.
Axis camera preparation
Mount the Axis SD-card in camera, see the camera user manual for mounting an SD-card in the camera. An SD-card is mandatory to run the C3-app.
Download C3 application
Fetch the recommended version of the C3 application from Observit via our helpdesk.
