Initial setup
Connect the camera to your local LAN using PoE
Connect your PC to the same network.
Access the camera from a web browser by entering the IP address in the browser’s address field.
Login to the camera.
Check firmware version
AMA is tested for Axis onboard cameras, see the release notes for the correct firmware (if unsure contact Observit support).
Set time and time zone
Set NTP and DNS in the camera to get the correct time, as well as time zone and adjust for daylight saving.
Format SD-card
Install and format SD card as ext4 in the camera, see camera manual for instructions.
Install and Activate AMA application
In the setup menu in the camera, go to “Apps”: Upload the AMA application file into the camera.
In the Apps menu: Click to the “Observit” application, toggle “Start” and click on “Open”.
Enter valid values into the fields:
- Holder id
Chosen by the end-user e.g. local place, vehicle id or similar.
Only the letters a-z, A-Z and numbers 0-9 can be used, “space” is not a valid character. Max 16 characters.
- Customer key
The unique identifier for the user distributed by Observit support.
Click on “Save”, the settings will be saved and the app will restart.
Verifying installation
To verify the installation, log into OEC, go to your holder and verify that the app is reporting and no errors are shown.
Assign the holder to a garage of your choice, the vehicle will be placed in the default garage “New Vehicles” if no other info is available.
The holder can now be monitored and managed from the OEC cloud service.
