The Lightning Conductor is a SharePoint list aggregation tool intended to provide SharePoint business users or IT professionals the ability to aggregate content easily without having to resort to writing code. The Lightning Conductor saves time for end users of SharePoint and also saves time for technical staff such as SharePoint developers.

Valuable business information is created everyday within our SharePoint environments, but often it cannot be found through navigation, or discovered through search simply because we don’t necessarily know that the content exists. For example, within a Human Resources Department, a new revised Employee Handbook document may have been created, or an announcement created announcing a new employee. But unless you navigate manually to the Human Resources Team Site, and trawl through the thousands of list items or documents, you won’t be aware of the content existing.

Therefore, the Lightning Conductor can be placed on a page such as a Corporate landing page, and display scenarios such as: Recent Announcements, Your Tasks, Recently Modified Documents etc. Such information will then be surfaced, and employees will become engaged in the forever updating dynamic content.
