Fair and detail bottom

Sand the entire bottom with 80 grit. Take care not to sand into the laminate. Use epoxy filled with a lightweight filler (or System Three’s QuickFair) to fill any low spots in the exterior surface. Pay special attention to where layers of glass overlap, corners, and edges. Look for voids in the laminate— bubbles under the fiberglass surface. Cut these out with a sharp razor knife or grind them out with a dremel. Fill these spots with thickened epoxy. Go over all the surfaces a second time, sanding, filling, detailing etc. The goal is to get these surfaces clean and fair before applying primer.
