Installing Data Viewer SPFx Client Side Web Part

Data Viewer is packaged as an SPFx Client Side Web Part which makes it very simple to install. To install the Data Viewer, you will need permissions to add Apps to the SharePoint App catalog within your SharePoint environment. It may be that the deployment needs to be carried out by a Tenant or Farm Administrator.

*If you use SharePoint 2010, 2013, or 2016 (without support for SharePoint Framework), please use the Data Viewer Web Part – On Premises for your SharePoint environment which can be downloaded from: https://lightningtools.com/download-a-data-integration-tool

To install the Data Viewer package to SharePoint:

1. Download the Data Viewer SPFx Client Side Web Part from https://lightningtools.com/download-a-data-integration-tool if you haven’t done so already.
   
   
2. Unzip the package. You will find the ltdvcswp.sppkg which is required for deployment to SharePoint Sites.
   
   
3. Navigate to your SharePoint App Catalog. It is likely to be a URL such as: https://your_company.sharepoint.com/sites/appacatalog/SitePages/Home.aspx. Although the name of the App Catalog can vary.
   
   
4. Click Apps for SharePoint on the left hand navigation pane.
   
   
   
   
5. Click Upload from the Apps for SharePoint list.
   
   
   
   
6. Browse to the ltdvcswp.sppkg file that you unzipped in step 2.
   
   
7. Check the box to make this solution available to all sites in the organization.
   
   
   
   
8. Click Deploy

Congratulations, you have now deployed Data Viewer to your organization which means that any user with Design permissions to their sites, can add the Data Viewer Client Side Web Part to their SharePoint Sites.
