Discover Permissions Results

The Discover Permissions results are batched as 25 results per page. At the bottom of the page there are page numbers you can use to display each set of 25 results.

The page contains the following columns:

• Site/List/Item. This will be the relevant scope, and when expanded, the home (default) page of the sites/lists or the property page of the list items/files are displayed.
• User Name. The account’s Display Name.
• Permissions. The permission level(s) that is mapped to the account on the object.
• Permissioned Via. Lists graphically how the user has been given access to the object. To expand SharePoint Groups, click the plus sign down arror to the left of the group name.
  
  
  

Sorting the Results

You can sort the results using the column headings Site/List/Item, User, Permissions, and Permissioned Via. Sorting is completed against all the results returned, that is, sorting is not limited to the 25 results displayed on a specific page when there are more than 25 results returned. Click on the drop down arrow next to the column header of the column you wish to sort, and choose Ascending or Descending. You can tell a column is sorted by the up or down arrow next to the column heading.

Clear sorting by selecting the drop down menu and Clear Sorting.

Filtering the results

The drop down menu to the right of each column heading can be used to select Filter to refine the results returned. See the previous section for more information on how to filter the results of the discover permission action.

Exporting the results

To export the results, click Actions on the Ribbon and then Export Report. The Microsoft® Excel spreadsheet file name is of the format, ExportDiscoveredPermissions_yyyy-mm-ddXXX.csv, where XXX is the timestamp unique for each file. All results are exported, that is, the results exported are not limited to the results displayed on a specific page when more than 25 results returned from the Discover Permissions report.
