To use the Discover Permissions action on a folder, list item, or file, complete the following steps:

  1. Navigate to the List or Library which contains the necessary folder/item[s].

  2. Select the folder/item[s] on which you want to discover permissions. This can be done by hovering over the item and clicking in the radio button on the left of the item name.

  3. Click on the ellipses and choose Discover Permissions from the menu.

    The permissions report will be displayed in a dialog window. If you select more than one item, the report will discover permissions for all items in the order displayed in the list.
