Public File Sharing

It is now possible to share files with individuals who do not have an EPC account, offering enhanced accessibility for external stakeholders and simplifying the sharing process for wider internal collaboration.

How It Works

1. Upon upgrading to EPC 15.2, a new system-defined anonymous user will be created.
2. Add the environment containing the files you wish to share to the anonymous user, and keep the ‘Environment Permission’ to None.
3. Grant the anonymous user the appropriate security permissions on the specific file(s) you want to share.
   • We recommend choosing either read publish for anonymous users to only see the published versions of the file, or read latest if they need to access the latest draft version.
4. After sharing, recipients of the link will only be able to view, download, and print the file. They will not have access the the Details view data.
   • Users must share the link using the option in the Details view. Simply sending the browser URL will not work.

!If you share a link while in Latest mode but have granted the anonymous user ‘Read Published’ permission on the file, the recipients will not be able to access the file. To resolve this, toggle to Published mode and share the link from there.

*If you’re using download and print security, anonymous users will automatically be granted the default download and print authorizations.
