13.5.2 Regulation & Control Parsing in EPC

This AI feature enables the direct conversion of regulatory files into actionable EPC rules and controls. This streamlines the integration of regulatory requirements into the organization’s database, eliminating the need for manual data entry or the use the Parser application.

How to Use the Rule and Control Parsing Features

1. Navigate to the Rule or Control module.
2. In the tree, right-click on the desired Set or Folder. The parsed regulations or controls will be nested as children of the selected set or folder.
3. Select ‘Parse Controls’ or ‘Parse Regulations’ from the menu.

4. Choose a prompt from the drop-down menu at the top.

• ‘Custom prompt’ allows you to specify instructions for how the text should be parsed, such as text patterns, keywords, or specific sections to identify.
  • Alternatively, you can leave the ‘Add instructions’ area blank and let the parser handle it automatically.
• The other default prompts are also available and cover common parsing practices, and can help guide you in creating your own instructions.

5. Browse your files to choose an image by clicking on the Choose File button.

6. Choose which pages of your document to parse by specifying them the Start Page and End Page boxes.

!Users cannot parse more than 150 pages at a time.

*EPC can parse PDF and Docx files.

7. Click on ‘Parse’ to start the parsing process.
8. You will receive a notification when the parsing is complete.

9. The regulations or controls will be visible and accessible in the tree. Review and edit the content as needed.
