CREDIT CARD END-OF-DAY ISSUES
If the CC Machine does not process the ‘Z’ Reading properly at the end of the day

  • Retain all the CC Merchant receipts [these can be added up to verify the given day’s CC Sales]
  • Make sure a ‘Z’ Reading is done every morning before opening – this ensures the CC Machine is cleared [it should report no sales on the receipt if it had been correctly processed the night before]

If you discover that you end up with 2 day’s Credit Card sales when completing the ‘Z’ Reading on a given day:
The BlueChip Card Report from the previous day can be subtracted from the ‘Z’ Reading print-out. This should give you the current day’s Credit Card Sales Total
This will only be accurate if cashiers processed every Card sale correctly through the Till –
All transactions processed through the Till must be entered accurately i.e. A Cash Sale as a Cash Sale; a Credit Card / Debit Card Sale as a Card Sale and an On-Line Card Sale [JustEat / Deliveroo] as such.
