Data Extract--Other FTP Sites

Question: When doing a Data Extract —Why doesn’t the link supplied by vendor (entered into Other FTP sites) work?

Answer:
Many users get a link from vendors to Other FTP Sites, when the user tries to use the provided link, file transfer doesn’t occur.
FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a way to transfer files from one computer to another. A FTP Site IS NOT a website.
If the link starts with http or www —it is a website and not a FTP. FTPs will start with ftp.
