The process of setting certified values has been removed from the abstract to the excise report.
LandMark recommends setting these values in August when the excise board report is run.
Note: Parsonages and saferoom exemptions are NOT subtracted anywhere on the Abstract. However, they are on the other reports. The total on the abstract will be greater than the total of the county fund on the excise. The difference is the saferoom and patronage exemptions.
Parcel File — Print— OTC Reports
When printing the Abstract, the Abstract Report Options will appear.
- Users may select to print the report to the Printer, the Screen, or to a Spreadsheet.
- Checking Generate an Error Report box will print an error report to notepad and give a description of items that need addressed before finalizing the Abstract.
- Checking Recalculate the File box will recalculate the totals on the on the Abstract report.
If the box is checked to Generate Error Report, the Abstract Error Report will open in notepad. Please note, the error report will only be generated if the recalculate file box is checked as well.
Common Errors found on the Abstract Error Report:
Schedule Value Mismatch: This means the Assessment Total Value and the Appraisal Total Value do not match. Updating the assessed values will fix this error.
Exemption Total Mismatch: This means there is an error in the exemption table.
Example:The amount of a homestead was changed to 2,000 when the maximum is 1,000 or two homestead exemptions show on the same account.
NOTE: If a homestead exemption value shows in the Assessed Valuation column, but there is no exemption in the exemption table or the exemption amount from the exemption table doesn’t match the assessed valuation homestead field, please contact Landmark to fix this issue.
Invalid Property Class: This means the property class in invalid for the type of property. If the account generating the error is a Mobile Home, this will not affect the abstract report because Mobile Homes are filtered by their source type.
Invalid Tax Area: This means the tax area being used on an account is invalid and must be changed to a valid tax area.
Adding line 26 + 27 together on the Abstract should match the Annual Exemption Report and the Excise Board Report.
Once Abstract Error Report shows no errors, user may print the abstract.
If there are no abstract errors a box will appear.
