New: Customize fonts and page width

June 19th, 2020

Through Manula’s Custom CSS feature, basically everything could be customized. And most Manula users are using Custom CSS to change the styling of their manual.

However, by far the most common thing our users are using Custom CSS for are:

  • to customize font styles, sizes and colors, for both body content and headers
  • to customize the page width (limited to 1024 px by default)

So to make it easier for everyone, it is now possible to do these customizations from the Customization tab of the Manual Settings screen:

Logo customization settings now use Image Manager

December 23rd, 2015

All customization settings for logo’s, icons and PDF cover images now use your trusted Image Manager to pick an image.

This makes it easier to share the same image between multiple customization settings and manual topics.

Support page link text can now be customized

December 11th, 2015

The default link text for the link to your Support page is “Don’t hesitate to contact us here.”, displayed next to the feedback options at the bottom of each topic.

It is now possible to customize this link text, e.g. if you prefer to link to a Support Forum instead (in which case “contact us” wouldn’t really apply) or just to tweak the text to your own liking.

The new setting can be found in Feedback section of the Manual Settings screen:

Here’s the result of the above alternative link text in a live manual:

More customization options for PDF cover pages

May 4th, 2015

By popular demand, we have added some extra ways to customize the cover pages for the generated PDF manuals.

  • Where previously the cover page always just side your configured Side Bar image, there is now a separate customization option for the Cover Sheet Image, so that you can upload an image different from the Side Bar image.
  • On top of that, you can now also upload a Full Page Cover image that will be included in front of the normal cover sheet.

New: add a logo to your manual’s top bar

June 2nd, 2014

Multiple Manula customers have asked for this feature: the ability to add a logo to the top bar of live manuals (the navigation bar that shows the company name, manual name and search box). With some smart Custom CSS tweaking, this was already possible, but we decided to make this into an easy-to-use Customization setting.

It is now possible to upload a logo at both the Account Settings level (e.g. for a company logo for all your manuals), or at the Manual Settings level.

TIP: If you upload a company logo to appear in the top bar, you may want to uncheck the “Show Company Name in Top Bar” option in Manual Settings (depending on your logo of course).

Here’s an example of a live manual with the Company Logo in the top bar and the Company Name removed:
