Remote Networked PLC Example

*The intent of this example is not to provide connectivity details or logic programming examples for specific PLC manufacturers or platforms. This example assumes the user understands PLC logic and how to generate and assign useable tags or identifiers to the RaptorLinx-Ai-ST’s input and output assemblies.

This example application will be similar to the Hardwired Control Example in that the same Profiles will be set up with EasyRoll+. However, this example will show how a remote PLC can connect to the RaptorLinx-Ai-ST and have access to the Run and Profile selection functions as well as receive controller status over the PLC’s Ethernet network. Also added to this example are two photo sensors (PE-1 and PE-2) which will connect to the RaptorLinx-Ai-ST Main and Aux I/O ports to illustrate how the remote PLC has access to these ports. Just as in the Hardwired Control Example, an operator selects one of 4 operations for the conveyor. The PLC controller accepts the inputs from the operator selection pushbuttons.
