LinkedIn has recently started being a little more aggressive when it comes to ensuring accounts are secure.

The mainly means ensuring users are who they say they are, and that the profiles are for real people.

What this means for our users is simply that it’s possible that on occasion you’ll have to go through the verification code process periodically.

For many this is nothing more than a slight inconvenience. For others it means reaching out to clients each time it happens, which is less than ideal.

These verification code checks happen to some accounts more than others, and while there are a number of factors that determine how often this occurs, the biggest ones are:

  • Amount of account activity. By lowering the thresholds under ‘Settings’ (especially for the invitation and message activity), you can likely reduce the frequency of hitting this.
  • Unverified email address. By ensuring you’ve verified your account email address, you’re helping ensure you’re a real person.
