Accredited training is nationally recognised training, including units of competency. It is under the authority of the AQF and strictly monitored. For successful members, the outcome of this training is the issuing of a Statement of Attainment or Qualification.

Non-accredited training is outside the scope of the AQF and is developed, coordinated, and delivered by LSV in partnership with SLSA. The outcome of this training for successful candidates is issuing one or more lifesaving awards.

Becoming a Trainer or Assessor involves obtaining the skills, knowledge, and competencies to deliver lifesaving club activities. The requirements are set out in the previous section on a course-by-course basis. The following pages provide an overview of the process and requirements for becoming (and maintaining) an endorsement as a Trainer or Assessor.
