Section 1 Training Overview

*Volunteer training is an integral component of lifesaving. It is where water safety and lifesaving skills are learned, developed, and refreshed. The delivery of safe, effective, and quality training is the key objective of the Volunteer Training Team and Committee of Training and Assessment.

Objectives

This document has five key objectives:

1. Set a clear framework for LSV volunteer training.
2. Ensure all stakeholders are aware of their obligations.
3. Support the delivery of high-quality, compliant training.
4. Avoid challenges associated with non-compliance.
5. Create the best lifesavers anywhere in the world.
   

Training is integrated into many areas of lifesaving and cannot operate in isolation. When undertaking any training-related activity, it is essential to acknowledge and understand the broader legal and organisational policy frameworks that require consideration.
