Aquatic Activities (Run-Swim-Run)

*When conducting aquatic training or assessment activities (further to the water safety guidelines), the following must be in place:

• Two buoys to allow a safe swimming course
• The addition of a tube swimmer or board paddler

The Lead Trainer, Assessor, Facilitator, or water safety supervisor should make further additions to water safety ratios depending on the conditions, candidate experience, and risk assessment. All personnel must agree on the standard of safety before aquatic activities commence. These personnel include Trainers, Patrol Captains, Assessors, Facilitators, nominated water safety supervisors and (attending) School staff.

All water safety personnel must discuss and agree to a plan to deal with emergencies if they arise before commencing aquatic activities. When doing so, consideration should be given to the following components of the LSV Standard Operating Procedures.
