Where the Skills Maintenance App has been used during a skills maintenance session, and the Member has been marked Competent in all areas of the award/s and has completed all eLearning for the award (if applicable), the Member’s skills maintenance will be automatically processed and updated in Surfguard.
If a Member is marked “Not Yet Competent” in one or more aspects of the skills maintenance activity, the Skills Maintenance App will not process the skill until the Member completes those activities successfully.
If the Skills Maintenance App is not used, Skills Maintenance processing is completed by the Club Chief Training Officer and approved by Area Training and Assessment Officers. The process uses the traditional Form 14, enabling quick and accurate data entry into Surfguard.
All information needed to deliver Skills Maintenance activities (including raising and approving Form 14s) is included in the Skills Maintenance Handbook.
