Whenever you see the TAD Parameters form you may notice Global check boxes next to each parameter. The purpose is to push the parameter values to subsequent downloads where the parameter name is the same. This helps eliminate the need to change the same parameter value on each download.

The Global boxes are useful in the following situations:

  • Downloading a Template with multiple Tables or Reports for the same Companies.
  • Downloading multiple Financial Statements for a new month
  • The Setup Templates have Old and New parameters that create copies of existing setups.

Follow the steps below to practice using Global parameters.

1. With the Sandbox – TAD Basics template downloaded, click the Download All button on the ribbon.

2. You should now see the TAD Parameters form for the Sandbox Table.

3. If you have a value in the (Companies) parameter then remove it, otherwise if it is empty add a Company number.

4. Make sure to check the Global check box next to the (Companies) parameter and then click the Download button.

5. You should now see the download for the Sandbox Report Data Layout. The (Companies) parameter should be the same as the previous download and Global should be checked.

6. If you click the Download button it would cycle through the next two reports with the same results. Instead, check Skip Remaining Parameter Entry and then the Download button to download the remaining two without seeing the TAD Parameter form.
