A bus operator will independently operate a bus service without any supervision or administration from IC for the academic year.
Transporting children to and/or from school is done at the parents’ risk, not the school’s. The school is not liable or responsible for any accident or personal injury that students may sustain or for any damage or loss to their personal items however caused, while they are waiting to be transported to and/or from the school.
Parents will sign a contract directly with the operator; hence, the school will not act as an intermediary between parents and the operator.
The parents shall directly settle any payment related to the bus service to the operator.
The same criteria will be applied to the buses as before:

  • Buses will have the necessary insurance.
  • The operator will provide monitors for the buses.
  • The school will continue to intervene if students bully each other on the bus, just as it does if students bully each other online at home.

Both students and parents must review International College Bus Service’s Safety Rules.
Students are expected to behave correctly and follow all conduct and road safety standards from when they leave their homes until they arrive at school and back. All requirements of proper campus behavior extend to buses.
It is imperative that the driver has a calm, safe, and respectful environment at all times.
Students are expected to:

  • Wear seat belts at all times (if available)
  • Be polite to the driver and supervisor (if any).
  • Respect, cooperate, and follow the directions of the driver and supervisor (if any) at all times.
  • Remain seated at all times and face the front of the bus.
  • Keep all heads, arms, legs, etc., inside the bus and out of the passageways at all times.
  • Avoid fighting, bullying, or harassment of any kind.
  • Be courteous to the other students. All are expected to refrain from using profane/obscene language and/or gestures.
  • Speak in a soft voice while riding the bus. Loud talking or other forms of noise can distract the bus driver and is not allowed.
  • Refrain from littering, graffiti, or any other act of vandalism.
  • Refrain from eating, drinking, or chewing gum on the bus.
  • Avoid bringing anything alive or dangerous (such as glass containers, sharp objects) on the bus.
  • Keep the passageway clear. Books or bags are tripping hazards and can block the way in an emergency.
  • Wait for the bus to stop completely before getting up from the seat. Then, walk to the front door and exit.

Any action that distracts the driver is considered a safety hazard and grounds for disciplinary action. Any student found vandalizing or meddling with the bus equipment or committing an offense will be subject to automatic referral to the Disciplinary Committee. Severe measures may result in suspension from the bus or school. If a student is expelled from the school bus, the student will no longer be allowed to use this service for the rest of the year or the coming school year(s).
Change of usual routine: If, for any special reason, parents request to change the usual daily routine of their child, such as:

  • Board another bus to accompany a friend.
  • Leave earlier than usual for an appointment.
  • Walk home with a friend.
  • Meet someone from the family outside the school, etc.

Then, parents must send a note to the office with their child.
Bus riders can use only one address.
Bus riders may use a different bus line provided the parent sends in a written note and there is space on the bus.
Non-bus riders may not use the bus.
