Throughout their Middle School journey, students will learn about different social challenges under the umbrella of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), reach out to different communities, and acquire the knowledge and skills of becoming responsible citizens.
To be promoted, Middle School students are expected to complete the following requirements:

  • Build a class project/initiatives around one of the SDGs with the help of the class adviser.
  • Volunteer in ongoing projects with NGOs (NGO Fair).
  • Participate in all school initiatives and drives.
  • Articulate and assimilate the learning experience through reflection sheets.
  • Document students’ Civic Commitment and Service-Learning activities and reflection sheets in an e-portfolio that they will develop progressively throughout their Middle School journey.
To ensure that students have a meaningful and effective experience, they are closely mentored, guided, and supervised by their CCSL coordinator and class professors.
Upon completing the above requirements, students and parents will receive an evaluation form reflecting students’ performance. Students must submit reflection reports and build an e-portfolio on the completed activities. The Civic Commitment and Service-Learning grade/evaluation appear on grade reports. Students are encouraged to design their own projects and participate beyond the required service hours.
