“Every individual child must have equal access to a quality education adapted to meet his or her needs.”
IC is an international school with four different curricular programs: International Baccalaureate (IB), French Baccalaureate, Lebanese Baccalaureate, and the College Preparatory Program (CPP). Learning support at IC will serve all students with learning difficulties regardless of the chosen program. The learning community at IC will become more inclusive, positive, engaging, and accepting. Learning support is a comprehensive academic support system for students with true learning challenges and has a clear diagnosis. It is a service that will provide students with academics. We are a team of advocates for students with learning difficulties that follows the goal of providing the natural independence of students.
The learning support department also identifies students with mild to moderate learning difficulties and works conscientiously with them to overcome these difficulties. All this is done through a well-designed individualized plan/program that studies the strength areas and facilitates the learning journey for LS students. Learning support teachers will provide all services and modify tests based on students’ needs to achieve academic success at school and in official exams. Collaboration with outside professionals for testing and medical reports will be done when needed. Learning Support has followed up on student progress throughout ILP and SST (Student Support Team). Those will include parents, teachers, outside professionals, and administration.
