To safeguard the privacy of the students, teachers, and all other members of the IC community, students must use their phones responsibly during school hours. Student phones should be kept silent and out of sight and used responsibly when authorized. Students will be responsible if their phones are lost, misused, stolen, or damaged in any way.
It is strictly prohibited, unless approved by the administration, to use the cell phone to:

  • Write and send text messages
  • Make phone calls or use any of its other functions
  • Take and send digital photos
  • Take and send short digital video clips
  • Tape any classroom session
  • Access the internet

Unless approved by the administration, it is also strictly prohibited to use any other electronic device (such as a camera or iPod/iPad) to take photos or record audio or video clips.
The taking of photographs, audio recordings, and video recordings without the prior written authorization of the individuals involved is forbidden and would be the exclusive responsibility of the offender. These materials are subject to copyright and other intellectual property rights. They may not be used, reproduced, transmitted, displayed, published, broadcasted, copied, manipulated, or modified in any form and by any means under penalty of law without the prior written consent as indicated.
Students who violate this policy will have their cell phones taken and held at the school office for up to a month, and they will face disciplinary action based on the severity of the offense.

  • The school is not responsible for the loss or damage of the student’s cell phones or devices.
  • All communication between students and their parents, if needed during the school day, should strictly be conducted through the administration or floor advisors.
