You will need to import the Cue List exported from the console or offline software. It will be a file per Cue List, usually named ‘L0.txt’, where the ‘0’ is the Cue List number.

  1. Create a new show document, or open the show document you wish to import the data into.
  1. From the File menu, choose Import Console Data, Whole Hog 2.... A file chooser dialog will open for you to choose the file to import. If you do not create a new document or the show document already contains the sequence being imported from a previous Whole Hog 2 data import, after selecting the file to import you will be presented with a dialog warning you that this import will overwrite the existing data.
  1. After a short moment of analysing the file a dialog will appear for you to assign channel numbers. The Whole Hog 2 sequence export file is not formatted with unique channel numbers i.e. the ‘user’ numbers assigned in the patch, but is in the format of the channel number and fixture type.

For example:

Channel Type
1 VL5
2 VL5
3 VL5
1 MAC600
2 MAC600
3 MAC600
1 MAC500
2 MAC500
3 MAC500

This is because the Whole Hog 2 allows identical channel numbers for different fixture types. Moving Light Assistant must have a unique channel number for every fixture, and so it is necessary to map the imported channels and fixture types to unique Moving Light Assistant ‘user’ numbers. Normally you would assign the same ‘user’ numbers as those that are assigned in the Whole Hog 2 patch.

Whole Hog 2 User Numbers Dialog
  1. You need to assign a unique ‘User Num’ to each entry in the dialog. Unassigned ‘User Num’ cells will have a cyan background colour. Unassigned channels will not be imported. If you re-import data later or add further sequences to the same show document, Moving Light Assistant should remember the ‘User Num’ assignments.
  1. Once ‘User Num’ have been assigned, click the Done button to proceed with the import.

Once the import is complete, an ‘Import Log’ dialog will open showing what was imported.
