The Follow Console button toggles to enable or disable the Cue List spreadsheet following the console cues as they are run.

When connected to a console via MIDI Show Control or OSC (Open Sound Control), when each cue is run on the console, the same cue will be selected in the Cue List. The selected cue will be the second row in the Cue List so that the top line is the previous cue. The relevant cue information will be displayed in the ‘Cue Information’ area of the view. A progress bar in the ‘Cue Information’ area will show the progress of the cue. Console data including the Cue List will have to have been imported for this feature to work. The cue progress is determined by the fade, delay and duration times in the imported console data.

For connecting to a console, see MIDI Show Control setup or OSC setup for details. MIDI Show Control can be received by an external USB MIDI interface and with some consoles over ethernet. OSC is typically used over ethernet with the ETC EOS Family of consoles.

This feature can be used in two ways:

Documenting

When used in combination with ‘Auto Photograph’, it can automatically photograph all the cues during a rehearsal or performance. See ‘Auto Photograph’ for more details.

Playback

When a show has been documented, you could have the console following along with the ‘Cue Zoom’ window open to display the picture of the current cue as the show runs. If annotations have been added to photographs (i.e. channel numbers drawn on top of specials) it can help the operator identify channels that are not in the correct place during the performance.
