Data contributors maintain ownership over their datasets on the Skeena Salmon Data Centre while making it accessible to users through a license. A license explicitly grants users permission to use specific data, information, or material under certain conditions specified by the license.

Open Licenses

Many of the datasets housed on the Skeena Salmon Data Centre are published under an open data license. Under an open licence, users are free to copy, modify, publish, translate, adapt, distribute or otherwise use the information in any medium, mode or format for any lawful purpose. Copyrighted Items

Copyright is the exclusive legal right to produce, reproduce, publish or sell a work.
