When you have provided the information on the Create dataset page, select the “Next: Add Data” button to add resources.

This is where you will add one or more resources to the dataset.

To upload a file, select the upload option; to create a link to an external website, select the link option.

Next, complete the metadata fields for the resource:

  1. Name – This can be the same title as the dataset title if there is only one resource. If there are multiple resources, enter a name with descriptors (e.g. Appendix A: Supporting Documents or Table 1: Site Locations)
  2. Description – If there is only one resource you can leave this blank and the SSDC will auto-fill the description from the dataset. If there are multiple resouces, enter a short description of each resource (e.g. Zip folder containing raw temperature monitoring data as csv files).
  3. Enter file type (PDF, HTML, KML, SHAPE FILE, ZIP, GeoJSON, XLSX, TIFF, GeoTIFF, DOCX, XLS, JPEG, CSV, DOC, XML, KMZ, PNG, or TXT)

If you have more resources (files or links) to add to the dataset, select the “Save & add another” button. When you have finished adding resources, select the ‘Finish’ button.

Once your dataset is created make sure to add it to all relevant categories and collections.
