6.5.2. Radar sources

Radar sources are search engines/bars.

Here, we will indicate keywords that the Cikisi robots will type every hour on the indicated search engines.

Apart from “Google alerts”, all these robots are configured in the same way.

We’ll give an example of how to use the Twitter search bar.

1. Click on “Twitter Search”
2. Insert your keywords (“Quantum computing” in our example)
3. Click on “verify”
4. Fill out the form like any source (no fields are required but the name)
5. Click “create”

• This robot will therefore launch the “quantum computing” search:*
• in the Twitter search bar
• every 6 hours
• and will upload the results in Cikisi

This operation is the same for all “radar” robots apart from Google Alerts.

What about the “Search engine” robot?

This robot launches searches on Bing and Webhose.

What about Google Alerts?

1. You must go to the Google alert site itself: google.fr/alerts
2. Create a search
3. Edit/Show options
4. Next to the “send to” option, select the RSS option
5. Go back to Cikisi > Create a source > Google alert
6. Paste the RSS feed link of your Google alert
7. The rest, you know it :)

!Googles alerts do not bring much compared to a search in the community library. These are very often polluted and the interesting websites are already collected by our robots.
