What is an RSS feed?

Feed created by the site itself to present the headlines of its publications. These are automatically updated by the owner. These feeds are in XML code and are not intended to be elegant.

Example:

You can see that content is structured with tags. (title, description, link, etc.)
Cikisi will take care of formatting them to show you nice articles.

Inserting an RSS feed in Cikisi is quite simple:

Source > Create Source > RSS > Paste your feed URL.

The real challenge is to find the RSS feed! Indeed, many sites offer them, but not all of them are visible.

To find them, we suggest you **three techniques:

Look for the icon

Go to the home page of the site you want to insert and look for RSS icon there:

Click on it and insert it into the platform (copy/paste).

Change URL

Go to the homepage of the targeted site and change the URL.
After the domain name, add the expression “RSS” or “FEED”.

Example: The digital farm (specialised press)

Home page: https://www.lafermedigitale.fr
Add “rss” or “feed”: https://www.lafermedigitale.fr/feed/

And you will find the RSS feed.

The code does not lie!

  1. Go to the homepage of your site.
  2. Press F12 or right-click anywhere on the page, then “View Source Code
  3. You arrive on the HTML code of the page
  4. Press CTRL + F and a tool will appear to allow you to find words on the page
  5. Search for the words “feed” or “RSS

Paste the feed URL link in Cikisi :)
