The LINKbridge has two isolated network interfaces, which should be connected via the use of shielded CAT6/CAT6a cables.

This enables you to connect the LINKbridge to two separate networks.

Typical use cases

  1. Connecting to a secure monitoring network
If you have a secure monitoring network on board, LAN1 would typically be connected to the main vessel network to allow for monitoring and use of internet access from this network. LAN2 would be connected to the secure monitoring network (that may have no internet and no router).
  2. Connecting to an MFD network (such as Raynet or Garmin)
Multi Function Displays such as those produced by Raymarine and Garmin act as routers on the network. They require connected devices to be issued IP addresses by the master MFD. In this case LAN2 would typically be connected to this network and set to DHCP (default setting). LAN1 would typically be connected to the main vessel network to allow for monitoring and use of internet access from this network.
