There are often times when a location package has been created for one project that would meet the needs of another project. In those cases, Reel-Scout™ offers a simple and easy way to copy the existing package with all the specifics (including individual location notes as well as specified images selected during the ‘Refine Photos’ process.
To copy an existing package, follow the steps below:
1. View List of Client Projects
Click project to view the list of client projects.
2. Search For & Choose Project
Go to the project which you want to copy from. You can do this by searching for the project or just clicking into the alphabetical letters to locate the project in browse mode.
3. Choose Package Tab
In the project to copy from, click the package tab.
a. Select Package
Select the specific package to be copied. In many cases there may be only one package in the listing or there may be several for a particular project.
b. Add Locations to Package
Once in ‘edit mode’ for the package to copy from, click the add locations to this package button. This action immediately sends the user to the location view with the hotlink to the ‘copy from’ package at the top left hand corner of the screen. The user has in essence placed the ‘copy from’ package into system memory.
4. Locate Project to Be Copied To
Repeat Steps 1-3 to locate the project to be copied to.
5. Add Package Information
Once in the package tab, complete the title, date prepared, requested by, and package description fields as if creating a new package.
6. Copy Package
There is now a new button in addition to the standard create package button — copy package. If this button is clicked, all the locations from the identified package will be placed in the newly created package for this project.
VOILA! You have now copied the entire package from one project to another.
