When using a remote ZooKeeper there are a number of options that need to be configured to assure that the ZooKeeper and Engine applications are utilising the correct network adapters to operate.

Engine Host Manager Settings

The Engine Host Manager settings window can be accessed via the Windows Task Manager Notifications area.

Within the ‘Network Settings’ tab a network adapter can be set as the ‘Default Network Adapter’ and should be set to the network adapter in a network with the ZooKeeper applications. A default network adapter is always highlighted in green.

ZooKeeper Settings

The ZooKeeper settings are found on the homepage of the ZooKeeper application. The top right cog will open this window.

A network adapter can be set as the ‘Default Network Adapter’ and should be set to the adapter in a network with the Hippotizer Engine. A default network adapter is always highlighted in green.

Disabling Network Protection

If using non Green Hippo products to operate the ZooKeeper application it may be required to remove network protection features in order to connect to a remote Engine.

Hippotizer has a built in tool to disable the Windows Defender and Firewall easily.
