A unique keyframe type that transitions from the current pin value to the upcoming value over a period of time, calculated from the position of the playhead until the next keyframe. This type of keyframe can only be applied to tracks which control float pins. Consecutive floating keyframes still function normally, it is only when the user has skipped to a floating keyframe that the transition will be applied. These keyframes offer flexibility for switching between multiple timelines.
The floating keyframe’s icon is different from that of a standard keyframe. It is instead shown as a cross followed by a dashed transient.
Including a floating keyframe at the start of a new timeline is a great way to ensure that when swapping between timelines there is not a snap from current to new values
