Within the ActiveControl Web UI, is possible for users to follow specific Business Tasks, Transports and SAP Objects. This is aimed at making users and stakeholders more self-sufficient and helps to avoid the inevitable “Has this transport been imported”, “Has that change been tested” etc emails being sent during the delivery of SAP Change.
Users can create rules for the items they want to follow in the Web UI. As part of these rules, the User can define whether they want to receive an email notification on the items they have followed, and/or to see an update on the items they have followed in the News feed section of the Web UI.
There are two configuration activities that need to be performed by Administrators to enable Following capability within ActiveControl.

| 1. | Program /BTI/TE_RUFOLLOWITEMS_UPDATE must be scheduled (after creating a variant) in the Domain Controller. The recommendation would be to add this program to the same scheduled job as the web UI news update program /BTI/TE_RUNEWS_UPDATE). |
| 2. | The Following notification option must be switched on within program /BTI/TE_RNOTIFICATION_ENGINE. |
