Delegation

Delegation enables Inbox and Outbox approvers to delegate their approvals within ActiveControl. This functionality is possible within both the Windows GUI and the Web UI. It is also possible for authorised users to ‘Force Delegation’ to set delegations for other users if they are off sick or on other unexpected leave. To be able to force delegations, a user needs to have authorization object Y_TECONF with value FORCEDELEGATE.

Delegation in the Windows GUI

Delegates are maintained via the Tools dropdown in the Windows GUI.

Delegation in the Web UI

Delegations in the Web UI are maintained via the Delegate approvals link in the top-right portion of the screen. Thereafter it is a similar process to the Windows GUI.

* It is not possible to define Delegates on a Test Queue. To ‘delegate’ Testing, you should simply assign other Testers to the Business Task.

* When you delegate somebody, they do not need to be added as an Approver in Windows GUI configuration. However they will need to have some sort of ActiveControl role assignment in the Domain Controller, to be able to access ActiveControl to perform the approval.
