YetiPlanner is an application that is a great tool for executive functions. In the app you can create plans and divide them into smaller parts. Plans that have been divided into smaller steps, can be easier to perceive and execute when the user can concentrate on finishing one step at a time.
The app has a large picture bank that can be used for creating your own plans. The step description has “a text to speech” function and you can also add your own pictures to the plans from your device gallery. In the plan, the user can mark steps as done and move on to the next step.
How to use
The app has one premade plan as an example that depicts a usual morning routine steps. To create your own plan, tap the “New plan” button.
You can name the plan and give it a description. By tapping the “Add step” button, you get to create steps for your plan. You can add a picture to the step by clicking the picture icon. You can browse the pictures by scrolling or by using the search bar and to add your own pictures from your device gallery, click on the “Add picture” button.
You can name the step or maybe give it a more detailed description. This particular text has the “Text to speech” function in the plan view which can be useful for auditory instructions. The step can be deleted by tapping on the bin icon. Once the plan is complete, remember to save it by clicking on the “Save plan” button.
If you would like to edit or delete the plans you have created, you can tap on the pencil icon on the right side of the plan. In the edit view, there is a button to delete the plan or save the plan if you have made any changes.
To start executing a plan, click on it to go to the plan view. Here you can adjust the settings to suit your needs and start by doing the first step. If the step has been given a name or description, you can press on the audio icon to use the “text to speech” function. Once the step is finished, it can be marked as done, by either clicking on the step picture or the check box. The next step is activated after the previous step has been completed. Steps can be marked as undone by clicking on them again. Once all of the steps have been completed there will be an audio effect and confetti.
To get back to the plan list, tap on the arrow “←” button in the upper left corner.
Settings
In the plan view, the steps can be aligned vertically or horizontally by tapping on the button that indicates alignment in the top right corner. If you would like to give the steps numbers, you can tap on the number button on top the right corner. The size of the steps can be adjusted with the scaling slider.
