YetiAhoy! was designed with hand coordination training, social skills, cooperation and rehabilitation of motor skills in mind. The goal is to save the ship from sinking and stop filling up with water by fixing the waterholes in it. Randomly, water is coming through the leaks in the body of the ship, which can be fixed by long-pressing or consistent tapping onto the waterholes. Long-pressing is designed for enhancing the persistence of finger movement in order to promote the motor skills, while consistent tapping is optional. This game is particularly fun when played with multiple players. The difficulty level is adjustable based on the users’ skill level. This means that at a certain difficulty level the game also teaches about working under pressure. Furthermore, there is a game mode for one or two players, but the game can be played with additional players to practice social skills and working together will make it much easier to save the ship.
Settings
The settings can be adjusted from the menu screen, before starting each game. You can choose flexibly between the difficulty level in the bottom left corner and the number of players (one or two) in the top right corner. The colored icon shows your current selection. If the icon is greyed out it has not been selected.
Difficulty
The difficulty level can be set up according to personal preference by dragging the ‘Skull icon’ from the left (Easy) to right (Hard) in the bottom left corner. The length of the white bar shows the difficulty level. The difficulty will increase progressively by adding more waterholes to speed up the sinking of the ship.
Number of Players
The number of players can range from one to two. If you want to play the game individually or with one more player, please choose the suitable icon in the top right corner. The game can be played with additional players to practice social skills and working together will make it much easier to save the ship.
How to play?
The goal of the game is to save the ship from sinking by stopping water from entering through appearing waterholes. The game lasts 1 min or 1 min 30 secs depending on the number of players chosen. The water is randomly coming through the leaks in the body of the ship, which can be fixed by long-pressing or consistent tapping onto the waterholes. The game recognizes long-pressing with one finger per hole the best.
Tap on the waterholes which can be found somewhere on the screen. Long-press or consistently tap those waterholes for about 6 seconds until they become smaller and eventually disappear. The game can be performed well when the majority of waterholes are finally replaced by wooden bars and the raising water level would not reach the top before the time has run out. When the game is over, you can choose ‘REPLAY’ to play the game again with the same difficulty level or ‘BACK TO THE MENU’ to adjust the difficulty level before restart.
