The adjustment of an Xtrem scale is done in a single point.
The linearity adjustment allows to introduce corrections in three additional points of the measurement scale, to improve the linearity of the scale and obtain a greater accuracy in the indication.
Linearity enables/disables the linearity adjustment at various points of the measurement scale. Click on the toggle switch to change its state.
POINT 1 / POINT 2 / POINT 3 Enter the indication obtained at each point to be corrected and the value to be obtained as a result. The scale calculates the necessary correction coefficients to adjust the indication to the values that have been entered along the entire measurement scale.
Example:
Take into account a scale with 4 load cells Max 1500kg, d=0.2kg.
A full scale adjustment is made with 600kg.
The indication of the scale is verified throughout the entire scale (linearity test) and the following error curve is obtained.
The error at 600kg (point at which we have adjusted the scale) is -0.020kg. However, as the load on the platform increases, the error grows exponentially.
This is because the deformation of the load receptor as we increase the load causes an increasing inclination in the load cells, introducing an error.
It is possible to solve this problem by reinforcing the structure of the load receptor, but also a solution is possible by applying the linearity adjustment. From the observations obtained in the linearity test, the following adjustment table is entered, and the linearity adjustment is activated by switching the switch to the ON position.
The linearity test is repeated throughout the entire measurement scale, and the following error curve is obtained:
Using the Linearity ON/OFF switch, it is also possible to check in real time the effect of linearity settings on the indication.
