Connecting via a COM port

The Xtrem scale is equipped as standard with an RS232 serial interface.
The cable that comes out of the scale is terminated in a connector that allows any Xtrem weighing indicator to be plugged in.

To connect the scale cable to the PC, an adapter cable is required, which is supplied on request (GRAM reference 33819). This cable also includes an AC/DC adapter to power-up the scale.

Plug the 33819 cable into the scale connector:

Finally, connect the cable end to a COM port on the PC:
Do not forget to connect the power supply to an electrical outlet (100-240Vac / 50-60Hz) for the scale to work.

A PC can be equipped with several COM ports. Each scale you want to connect needs a different COM port. The easiest way to add a COM port to a PC is to use a USB to COM port adapter.
