XSTRA partners with Cisco to provide Clients with access to the Umbrella suite of Cyber-Security and Protection products.

Much like solutions from:

  • Quad9
  • CloudFlare
  • FlashStart
  • TitanHQ
Cisco Umbrella is able to shield Clients from many of the cyber threats on the Internet.

Cisco Umbrella is able to do this by maintaining a list of domain names and IP addresses where threats are known to exist. As service known as DNS, or Domain Name Service, keeps a record of these sites. When a user attempts to access any http or https website, the request is first sent to Cisco Umbrella’s DNS servers. The request is then compared to a list of known “bad” destination and permitted or denied.

Further restrictions are applied on the users request based on various subject categories, for example:

  • Pornography
  • Politics
  • Weapons
  • Violence

Cisco Umbrella comes in 2 Versions:

  • Essentials
  • Advantage (everything in Essentials + More)

The following images further explain the concepts behind Cisco Umbrella.
