At our company, we are committed to providing a work environment free of unlawful harassment. Our policy prohibits harassment because of sex (which includes sexual harassment, gender harassment and harassment due to pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions) and harassment because of race, religion, color, national origin, disability, age or any other basis protected by federal, state or local law or ordinance regulations. All such harassment will not be tolerated.
Our company’s harassment policy applies to all persons involved in the operation of the company and prohibits unlawful harassment by any employee, including supervisors and coworkers. Prohibited unlawful harassment because of sex (sexual harassment, gender harassment and harassment due to pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions), race, religion, color, national origin, disability, age or any other protected basis includes, but is not limited to, the following behavior: Verbal conduct such as epithets, derogatory jokes or comments, slurs or unwanted sexual advances, invitations or comments; Visual conduct such as derogatory and/or sexually-oriented posters, photography, cartoons, drawings or gestures; Physical conduct such as assault, unwanted touching, or interfering with work because of sex, race or any other protected basis; Threats and demands to submit to sexual requests as a condition of continued employment, or to avoid some other loss, and offers of employment benefits in return for sexual favors; and Retaliation for having reported or threatened to report harassment.
If you believe you are the subject of harassment of any kind or are aware of any employee including managers, supervisors or co-workers who have a complaint, please follow these procedures:
Let the offending person(s) know you find the conduct offensive. If it does not stop or of it recurs, file a compliant with the Human Resources Department. You will be asked if you wish to make your complaint “formal”. Should you decline, no action will be taken nor record made. Complete confidentiality will be maintained. If you wish, Human Resource will contact the alleged offender in an effort to reach a solution.
Should you choose to make a formal complaint, you will be asked to complete a complaint form listing or describing the alleged offender(s), offense, date, time and witnesses. The Human Resources Dept. will handle the complaint by making a complete investigation.
Management must refrain from all forms of discrimination at all times and, if a witness to discrimination or unreasonable conduct, ask the offending person(s) to stop immediately, explaining what the conduct is and how it offends. If the conduct persists, management will file the formal complaint.
The Company has the right to apply any sanction or combination of sanctions to deal with unreasonable conduct or discrimination including:
Counseling the offender;
Transfer;
Probation, with a warning of suspension or discharge for continuing or recurring offenses; Suspension without pay; and/or
Discharge for cause.
The Company will not retaliate against you for filing a complaint and will not tolerate or permit retaliation by management, employees or co-workers. The Company encourages all employees to report any incidents of harassment forbidden by this policy immediately so that complaints can be quickly and fairly resolved.
