A comprehensive log of operations and training must be maintained for IRB operations, including motors, and should be completed in detail before and after each patrol, training or other type of operation.
The IRB Driver, as the vessel master, is ultimately responsible for ensuring the IRB log is completed accurately.
Examples of the documentation that may be required include:
- Patrol Log (preferably in the Patrols section of the Operations app) – This is generally the patrol captain’s responsibility. The patrol log is used for logging patrol information such as signing onto patrol, entering statistics and members patrol hours.
- IRB Log (preferably in the Powercraft section of the Operations app) – This is the responsibility of the IRB Driver or IRB Crewperson. It is used to complete checks of the equipment, note operation hours and log any faults or issues.
- Incident Report (preferably in the Incidents section of the Operations app) – This may be required for any incidents such as a rescue or member injury.
- Risk Assessment (preferably in the Risk Rating section of the Operations App) – This should be completed for any IRB operations such as patrols, training, or water safety.
