The Future of Marine Survey Report Writing

InspectX is a powerful tool for writing survey reports and has proven to save users an enormous amount of time.

Like anything, the benefits come after dedicating a little time to customize the content and layout to suit your survey inspections and the content you want included.

From our users I have learned that the best method for success is to slowly transition toward using a tablet in the field. Whether you’re just starting out or a veteran surveyor, plan on writing your first 2 or 3 surveys using InspectX from your home or current computer.

There are already enough new things to pay attention to while onboard a boat that the added element of a computer to that equation should only be brought it once navigating the software has become second-nature, which usually takes a few surveys. 

Once you begin using a tablet in the field you’ll set yourself small goals at first, planning on completing 20-30% in the field and increasing that amount with each subsequent assignment.

For these first few reports you’ll probably have to take paper notes and pictures, and to help with this I’ll attach a link to a PDF file of some field-notes that will closely resemble the order and content you’ll find in InspectX. FIELD NOTES
