As you may already know, InspectX requires a computer running a Windows operating system, however, without any installation you can also access your version of the InspectX database from a Mac, iPad, Android, or any other device with a browser.

For the purpose of understanding which device is which, let’s call the Windows computer with InspectX installed the “Host” machine. We’ll call the alternate device you wish you open InspectX with the “peripheral” device.

In order for the peripheral device to communicate with your host machine they will both need to be turned on and connected to the same network (an internet connection is not required).

On the host machine, open InspectX and click the menu in the top left corner.
From the drop-down list select “About InspectX”.

At the bottom of the “About” window will be a computer name and IP address.
Either can be used, but my preference is the IP address.

Simply type this name or IP address EXACTLY as it is written from your window, into the web browser’s address bar of your peripheral device.
