The following instructions provide guidance on how to upload measurements to the portal. Uploading measurements to your SL-DOG portal is HIGHLY recommended and is required for all SL-RAT devices with Version 2.8 or later. Upload is required once your device reaches 500 measurements.
For previous versions of the SL-RAT, while uploads are not required, you will LOSE your inspection data if you do not upload measurements. New records will overwrite old records at 200 measurements.
We recommend uploading measurements on a regular basis to best manage your acoustic data.
Required Items:
- Successfully installed USB and System setup
- Log in credentials to www.sl-dog.com
- Active internet connection
- Supported web browser (Chrome, Internet Explorer)
- PC with Windows installed (XP, 7, 8, 10)
- USB cable (provided with SL-RAT)
STEP 1. Prepare SL-RAT for upload.
Make sure that your RX and TX units are synched. This can be done by turning both units on/off or navigating to the “Sync device” option in the RX menu.
STEP 2. Connect RX to the computer
Make sure the RX device is turned on and connect the device to a computer using the provided USB cord.

STEP 3. Run SL-DOG Software
Click on the SL-DOG icon on your desktop (generated during software installation). When you launch the program, it will automatically look for a device and internet connection.
If there is no internet connection, the program will indicate this issue in the bottom left-hand corner of the window:
STEP 4. Connect Device and Push Data to Portal
Once the RX is properly connected and an internet connection is established, the device will communicate with the server and determine what measurements are stored on the device. Once complete, the fields will populate and your data will be available for viewing in two ways.
1. Upload new SL-RAT data to the web portal. Push the data to the portal to export into various formats (PDF, CSV, SHP, KML).
2. Download the SL-RAT data to your PC. Click “Create CSV File” to directly download SL-RAT measurements contained on the device in CSV format. This option also automatically uploads data to the web portal.
You have successfully uploaded measurements to your portal.
